North American Industry Classification System — United States, 2022

The U.S. federal statistical classification for business establishments, organized around their primary production activity.

Edition and use

This reference uses the 2022 U.S. edition. The Census Bureau also keeps earlier editions available, so confirm the edition requested by your form or recipient. Software Publishers uses 513210 in 2022, replacing the older 511210 code. The older 454110 online-retail heading is not a 2022 catch-all: retail classification now depends on the goods sold, so an online channel alone is insufficient. IndustryCodeFinder offers independent guidance; the authority or organization receiving a code controls the final assignment.

It imports code, title, level and parent only. It does not reproduce the manual's definitions, examples, inclusions, exclusions or crosswalks.
